Aqua Nor 2017: Catch the big salmon by rod and line right from the exhibition area!

Around the Trondheim Spektrum exhibition area runs the Nidelven River, known as an excellent salmon river. This year you will have the opportunity to catch wild salmon by rod and line directly from the exhibition area in connection with the Havfruen Fishing Festival!

Aqua Nor is the only aquaculture show in the world which is located next to an excellent salmon river. Nidelven River is usually full of fat salmon – and now you will have the opportunity to try your luck and catch one without leaving the exhibition area!

The Havfruen Fishing Festival is held every year, but this year the organizer has improved on the concept by bringing it right to the exhibition itself.

All who wish to participate may register at the Outdoor Restaurant at Hall G to borrow fishing rods. A fishing tax and permit is needed, but this can be easily obtained by PC or mobile phone when you pick up your fishing rod.

The ones who catch the two largest salmon of the season are awarded a gift voucher of NOK 2 500 each, to be used at the Havfruen Restaurant (The Mermaid). Although it may be difficult to beat the Nidelven River record, which stands at 31.8 kg, every year salmon of over 20 kg are caught in this river, and salmon of more than 10 kg are common. In other words: here is a chance to catch the Big One!

The salmon fishing on the exhibition grounds is a cooperation between Aqua Nor and the Havfruen Restaurant, in connection with Havfruen’s 30th anniversary this year.

The fishing place will be behind the Outdoor Restaurant at Hall G, and will be open every day of the exhibition from 10:00 till 17:00 hrs (Tuesday through Thursday) and on Friday from 10:00 till 15:00 hrs.
